D/FW Trip

We had a great time with the Neinstadts and Crowells last weekend.  The purpose of the trip was for Mark to help Mason make a pedal board for all of his guitar pedals.  We stopped by Dallas first to see the Nienstadts.  Faith is an AMAZING face painter!

Cheri took several pictures of this pose, and each time she kept saying that I was making an angry face.  Well, it turns out it was my face paint that was making me look mean!  I will leave out some of the comments that others had about whether or not I just look mean in general.
On to Ft. Worth.... While the guys worked, we had time to play a few games.
They were working every spare minute we were there.  The garage was a bit cold, but Mark had a nice propane heater.
It was Mark's plan to have Mason build his board all by himself.  Mark is a wonderful teacher.  I have noticed this trait in him before, but it really shone this weekend. It is a gift to be able to give someone instructions step-by-step for three days.
Yes, I was quite nervous with the saws that Mason used, so it was best for me to stay inside.

Tobs liked Uncle Tim to cover his ears when the saws got loud.
It wasn't long before Mason was quite bothered by breathing all the saw dust.  Thanks for the respirator, Mark.  Oops - we forgot to clean the snot out of it - sorry!
The indoor work consisted of stripping and soldering MANY cords.  (I had no idea that the word pronounced sodering is spelled with an "l".)
Here is the beautiful finished product!  All the cords are hidden and there is one main power line.  It is so cool!
Obviously Jodi was feeling a little left out....
In the above picture you can barely see the cover.  It has a nice cover with leather snaps and a handle.
It is hard to express how thankful we are to Mark for what he did for Mason.  Giving up 3 entire days is a huge sacrifice.  Beyond that, he was a wonder instructor, and Mason got to experience many things that we are not able to expose him to.  Saying thank you is insufficient, but we do thank Mark from the bottom of our hearts!
